Marriott’s ‘cool meets luxury’ hotel opens in December this year and is both new and unique. Situated on Flinders Lane in the new Collins Arch mixed-use precinct, The W Hotel will feature 294 guest rooms, four dining and bar venues, plus ample conferencing space for up to 500 people, theatre-style.

Ritz-Carlton – Melbourne
Featuring 263 luxury hotel suites, breathtaking views and luxurious amenities including a day spa, restaurants and bars, as well as function rooms, a business centre, a 500-seat grand ballroom and outdoor garden terrace. Suggested opening date is Q4 2020.

Melbourne Marriott Docklands – Docklands
Marriott Docklands is located in the heart of the Docklands Precinct, just 30 minutes away from Tullamarine Airport. There will be 196 guest rooms, including 10 suites, a 250sqm ballroom filled with natural light, two outdoor terraces and a rooftop infinity pool deck and bar. Those looking to see first-hand will need to wait until it opens. The hotel’s opening is currently slated for late 2020.

Hilton Melbourne Little Queen Street – Melbourne
Opening in Q3 2020 in the city centre, the Hilton will be fully restored with the original 1930s Italian Romanesque and gothic detailing. There will be 244 rooms, five function rooms for board meetings and small conferences for up to 100 guests.

The Ian Potter Queen’s Hall – Melbourne
Closed to the public for sixteen years, The Ian Potter Queen’s Hall within the State Library of Victoria opened again after an historic redevelopment in December 2019. Revealing its heritage architecture and celebrating its 19th-century decorative scheme. With a grand staircase for maximum-impact guest entry, the hall can take 450 people, cocktail-style.

Centrepiece at Melbourne Park – Melbourne Park
Centrepiece at Melbourne Park is a new events centre in the heart of the Melbourne and Olympic Parks’ sporting and entertainment precinct. With a ballroom, auditorium and meeting rooms, it can hold conferences for 200 to 1000 guests, a gala dinner for 1400 guests or a cocktail party for 3,000 guests. Set over three levels, it is a purpose-built centre that has been built with LEED Gold certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design).

The ACMI (Australian Centre for the Moving Image) located in Federation Square is being completely renewed with new exhibition spaces, café and function rooms. Set to reopen in late 2020, we look forward to sharing more news on this one very soon!
