Five things to do this holidays

School holidays, Christmas, New Year and summer break are all just around the corner. Have you made plans for what you are going to do?

1. Food tour

You don’t have to go overseas to go on an exotic food tour. Taste Tours, a not-for-profit that employs and trains refugees, offers Syrian, Persian, Afghani, Chinese, Vietnamese, ‘Multi-Culti’ Liverpool and Barangaroo food tours.

2. Treetops Adventure Park

Put your head almost  in the clouds with a family day out at Treetops Adventure Park. The high ropes course is challenging enough to get your heart rate up but safe enough that kids can enjoy it too.

3.  Spa day

After a year of booking other people into spa experiences, why not splash out on your own spa day. Sparadise in the Blue Mountains has Japanese hot springs to soak in, spa treatments, a Japanese tea house and a stunning view out over Lake Lyell. Alternatively, book in somewhere closer to the city like the award-wining Darling Spa at The Star Sydney.

4.  SUP lessons

Summer is the perfect time to try something new that involves getting a little bit wet. You can do Stand Up Paddleboard lessons in Manly, Balmoral and at Watsons Bay. Definitely avoid big waves if you’re an absolute beginners because it’s harder than it looks!

5. Outdoor cinema

Lots of local ovals and parks offer outdoor cinema experiences but the big mama is Moonlight Cinema at Centennial Park. Buy tickets early to avoid disappointment if there is film you really want to see as newer releases tend to sell out quickly.
