South Australia’s most exciting venues

In the city, everything a delegate would need to access is all within its walkable boundaries. By way of example, the Adelaide Convention Centre – which has undergone a $400 million upgrade in the past few years – is within a five-minute walk of more than 3000 quality hotel rooms. This easily-walkable city includes hotels, conference venues, advanced technology precincts and the main business district. Adelaide is known for its stunning churches and located within an hour away from gorgeous wine regions, there are plenty of activities and places to explore and enjoy to ensure your delegates are always entertained. This is a city that is certainly worth considering when location scouting!

There are a wide range of venues and types of hotels available in Adelaide. From the Adelaide Convention Centre to commercial hotels. They have gorgeous estates and boutique hotels, something for every type of conference and business event, regardless of the size. The city certainly does not lack incredible restaurants with delicious food and fabulous wine, all within walking distance to accommodation and convention centres. There is no wonder Adelaide has been ranked one of the most livable cities and it leaves delegates wanting for nothing.

Chateau Tanunda, Barossa Valley: This stunning winery was established in 1890 and is the site of some of the Valley’s first vines planted as well as its first winery. The majestic bluestone winery and vineyards is a living testament to the colourful history and pioneering spirit of Australia’s most famous wine region. They have a gorgeous ballroom for 350 pax which can also be divided for smaller groups and there are also two beautiful dining halls that can double as an event space. There is no accommodation available at this venue, however it is closely located to Novotel. 

Light Adelaide: Light Adelaide is the perfect venue for those looking to impress. Light is designed to be a space where creativity, technology and hospitality blend to create breathtaking, innovative experiences. They have several interesting and intriguing event spaces for hire that are suitable for small to medium sized groups, hosting 30-80 pax. This venue showcases local artists and talent and is sure to captivate your delegates. They also have a beautiful outdoor garden area which is worth a peek!

Botanic Gardens: This location is just stunning. Beautiful gardens with a rustic, purpose-built marquee structure for large (200 pax) functions. The location is excellent and is in an easy walking distance to several different hotels and accommodation. There is catering available and a venue worth considering if you are looking for an outdoor venue with serene surroundings. 

D’arenberg Winery: The D’arenberg Winery is described as an experience. This eclectic winery is amazing and has a private space available to hire for small groups. It is perfect for those who want more than just a conference, but instead want to treat their delegates to an event that will leave an impression. The Cube, an intricate build located at the winery, offers extensive views of the stunning location and has 5 different levels. Each level has been carefully designed with the aim to entice and excite the senses. They have features such as a wine sensory room, a virtual fermenter, a 360 degree video room and several other tractile experiences. This is certainly a venue for small groups who want to step outside the box when it comes to conferences. 

Adelaide Convention Centre: The Adelaide Convention Centre is a very versatile and well positioned function venue. It has something for groups of all kinds and is very accessible with thousands of accommodation venues within walking distance. It is suitable for small to very large functions and also has spaces with dedicated theatre style seating. There are easy loading facilities for large support elements and the venue underwent a $400 million upgrade in the past few years. Their catering won high praise from our team and had some of the best convention foods we have ever tried. This venue is an excellent choice, for its accessible location and incredible facilities and capabilities as well.   

National Wine Centre: This is a great event space with a large function room that can hold up to 350 delegates banquet style. The function room opens up to a lovely garden terrace and there are lots of smaller rooms that can be used for breakout rooms and small meetings. The beautiful garden terrace can also be used for catering, allowing it to be another possible event space, depending on your needs. The National Wine Centre of Australia, Adelaide is a truly special place for you to experience. Its unique surroundings, nestled in the heart of the city’s Botanic Gardens, make it the perfect location for events.

Seppeltsfield, Barossa Valley: This is a gorgeous heritage property with a range of spaces on offer. The Dining Hall dates from the 1890s and all catering is supported by a very passionate chef and hospitality team. Their event spaces can cater a range of group needs and are all full of character. From the Dining Hall to the Seppelt family homestead, there is a space to suit almost any group.
