Carla Offord

Carla Offord is the founder and CEO of the highly successful company, The Conference Shop. 

Entrepreneurial by nature and a natural leader, Carla acquired her first business at the age of 23 in the hospitality industry. Continuing to follow this path, she moved into the world of hotels, working across various departments and finding her niche in events and business development.

Carla pursued this passion for events, by starting her own destination marketing, events and venue sourcing business, Southern Highlands Corporate Events, based in Bowral. This culminated in her managing large scale event projects including festivals, conferences and expos.

She later identified a need for greater destination marketing across regional destinations and an efficient venue sourcing service for busy event planners, and The Conference Shop brand was born. Since its launch in 2014, The Conference Shop has successfully grown year on year with Carla’s innovative and personable strengths a key to the business’ success.      

With an honest, amiable and collaborative approach to business and building relationships, Carla has built respect within the event industry. She has developed a strong network of loyal stakeholders and customers and willing to collaborate to ensure an effective outcome with all involved parties.

Recognised as a strong and clear communicator, a willingness to share knowledge and support new business owners and backed with years of industry experience Carla is often invited to present at MICE events.

Carla’s favourite holidays are packing up the car and trailer and traveling around Australia with her husband to remote destinations and live the simple life
