Sydney Olympic Park for conferences and events

Last week The Conference Shop headed to Sydney Olympic Park for a jam-packed day of site inspections. Now considered the geographical center of Sydney, this 13-hectare suburb built for the 2000 Sydney Olympics boasts 10 major event spaces plus many smaller areas for a unique meeting experience.  The options are truly limitless as to what the area can offer you and your delegates.


Getting there 

A quick train ride from the Sydney CBD combined with buses running continually, the area is serviced by a ferry run and is also a quick and easy drive from the airport and western Sydney.  Or you can augment your delegate’s transfers with a privately hired train from Central to include bar service which is sure to kick your event off to an exciting start!



There are six on-site accommodation options including serviced apartments to suit any budget.  We visited the Novotel and Pullman hotels which upheld their brand consistency and work together to cater for small to large conference groups.


Event venues 

Accor Stadium
Hiring a stadium is easier – and cheaper – than you think.  Talk to the expert team at Accor Stadium to use one of the world’s largest LED walls to your brand’s advantage on the field combined with 16 smaller function areas to create an exceptionally exciting event.

The Dome 

A HUGE all-weather venue with a beautiful, vaulted ceiling perfect for an impactful display.  This space can be used in conjunction with Exhibition Halls 2, 3, and 4 giving a multi-functional setup for even the most demanding event agenda.

The Royal Stables 

A traditional Australian timber building with natural light to suit groups of 200 or less. There is an upstairs mezzanine perfect for a smaller dinner or presentation.  This area can also be used as a break-out room supporting the nearby Exhibition Halls.

Quay Centre 

Originally built in 1984 and one of the very few Sydney arenas at the time, this venue has recently been the recipient of government funding and now showcases a new floor, seating and lighting.  With more upgrades and refurbishment in the pipeline, the centre can accommodate an expanse of large-scale presentations including exhibitions and launches as well as smaller set-ups for group meetings.  The Hall of Champions presents a distinctive option for welcome drinks or a galley-style dinner.  The hall showcases Australian sporting greats along one entire wall sure to kick start your guest’s conversation with a trip down memory lane.


Set amongst the picturesque landscape of Bicentennial Park, Waterview’s floor-to-ceiling windows frame calming views of the parklands and lake.  The main room has high ceilings and easy access with open-air terraces for break service.  Great for a large conference, a small meeting or a gala dinner with complimentary free on-site parking available.
